槟城环球城中城是一项灾难?槟岛被变卖?
槟城环球城中城计划(PGCC)让槟城人一时措手不及,这个庞大计划将把现有槟城跑马场改变成一个将矗立37栋高楼,一个新地标建筑,以及居隹3万2千人(多少部车子?)的新城市。
不过这个计划下所公开的一些建筑绘图细节却具误导性,一些引起关注的问题也未获得解答。关心槟城的子民要求暂缓此项计划,直至州政府进行公共谘询及确保计划的全面透明度。
我们的10道问题如下:
一、为何计划秘密中进行?为何公开的建筑图如此误导性?
二、一片在1930年由州政府免费拨出作为休闲用途的土地,如何成为私人发展商一项250亿令吉的发展计划?
三、为何一个尚未获地方政府批准的发展计划却已由首相推展?
四、这个庞大计划的环境评估报告(EIA)?为何一个初步的环境评估报告如此迅速获批准?
五、发展商如何取得每依格接近30个单位的发展密度,而在附近Jesselton地段的发展规定却是每依格6个单位?
六、一旦苏格兰路及?都眼东的高架公路及隧道在进行时,槟城人将面对工程进行中的数年交通阻塞,那么我们又如何能说交通问题将解决?

八、一个将引起巨大社会及环境污染及破坏的计划如何能达到“零碳”?
九、一个在结构大l蓝图下的休闲如何转换成为发展地?

Penang Global Cty Project a disaster?
THe launching of the Penang Global City Centre project will have taken many Penangites by completer surprise.This is a massive project to convert the existing racecourse into a huge,new city ,to be home to 32,000 people(how many cars?)and with 37 high-rise buildings,the new icons of Penang.Yet there have been few details of the project,some very misleading facts and drawings of the project circulate,and major questions remain unanswered.Concerned citizens of Penang have come together to ask t hat the project be put on hold until proper public consultation has been put in place and full transparency with regard to the project be implemented by our state government.We seek your support.

10 Questions that we want answered
1.Why has the project planning been done so secretively?Why are published drawings of the project so misleading?
2.How had land granted by the State for recreation at virtually no cost in the 1930s mow become the source of a RM25 billion project for a private developer?
3.How can a project be launched by the PM when it had not yet been approved by the local authorities?
4.Where is the detailed EIA required for a project of the gigantic size?And how did the preliminary EIA get approved so quickly?
5.How does the developer get a density of nearly 60 units to an acre when surrounding land in the Jesselton area is zonef for 6 units to an acre?
6.How can we be told that our traffice problems will be solved when we will be stuck in jams,for YEARS,while the flyovers and tunnel are being bilt at Scotland Road and Batu Gantong?And probably for years after that!
7.Who exactly are the shareholders of Abad Naluri Sdn Bhd?
8.How can `zero-carbon` be applied to a project that will cause so much social and environmental pollution and destruction?
9.How did Open Recreational Space become Development land in the Structure Plan?
