SERI's invite to a dissappointment
SERI's advertised talk on global economic trend has made a blunder on the date of the function and caused a few interested attendants to turn up on the wrong date. The advertised date on some leaflets and emails is for the function to be held on Aug 2nd (Saturday) at Caring Society Complex. So Penang Watch went along -since I, on behalf of Penang Watch, have registered with SERI's Dr Chan at a meeting with State Government earlier.

When I arrived at about 9.15am I saw Suaram's Shu Shi was there at the entrance. Puzzled, I asked what happened. She told me that the talk is actually on Aug 5th-as also mentioned earlier by her media colleague. You won't believe who was with us: a gentleman from KL, a familiar SB (even SB was fooled by SERI-good work!), and also a STAR photographer whom I know!

At the venue where the forum is supposed to take place is another SERI aerobic activity. And the SERI personel there insist that the global economic forum will be held on Aug 5th-despite it being advertised in black and white to be on this morning. So you can't even believe anything in black n white today!

It is strange that the registration require email addresses and h/phone no to be given -and yet when there is a change/mistake in the venue of the function they could not inform us through the emails/sms.

With such efficiencies from a government linked/funded think tank it is no wonder that Penang's global economy is sliding. SERI should apologise to all those who were misled to turn up this morning.
